"Once again, Aviat Aircraft has proven their commitment to their customersand IAC members through their free Contest Inspection Program.
For those of you not familiar with the program, Avial Aircraft sends a factory mechanic, at their own expense, to contests around the country for the sole purpose of inspecting Pitts aircraft. Anyone who comes to the contest can have their plane inspected in such great detail that most owners are surprised at the result.
Such was the case at Pocono this past weekend. Factory representative Danny Adams spent the whole weekend doing these inspections, discussing safety
issues, educating pilots on preflisht techniques, and repairing deficiencies. While most inspections only resulted in slight adjustments, two potentially catastrophic defects were diinivcred and repaired. Anyone who has taken advantage of this program should be proud to have this type of factory support. Anyone who has not, should get themselves to the next Contest Inspection Program.
Aviat also sponsors the Pitt's Trophy, awarded to the highest scoring Pitt's pilot at the contest. I am proud to announce that this year's winner, with an impressive 84.53 percent in Sportsman, was Johnny "Barefoot" Hutchison, who flies the first certified S2B built.
Did someone say "value added"?
